Bon Accord Soft Drinks acquired by 71 Brewing
Bon Accord, the much-loved brand, has been acquired by Dundee’s 71 Brewing, creating a partnership that promises to shake up Scotland’s soft drinks scene with fresh flavours, sustainable formats, and a focus on better-for-you choices.
Founded in Arbroath over a century ago, Bon Accord has long held a special place in the hearts and homes of families across Scotland. Now, more than a century later, the brand is returning to its roots in Tayside, where it all began, with a renewed focus on innovation, sustainability, and consumer choice.
Fans can expect to see more of their favourite naturally sweetened, plant-based drinks in a brand-new can format – a lighter, eco-friendly alternative to glass that chills faster, locks in freshness, and is easier to transport.
With 71’s craft expertise and investment behind it, Bon Accord is poised to accelerate new product development, expand its range of better-for-you soft drinks, and grow its reach across Scotland and beyond. Production will take place locally in Dundee, bringing even more of Bon Accord’s story back to where it started.
Founder Karen Knowles, whose great-great-grandfather started the brand over a century ago, said: “Bringing Bon Accord back to the North East is more than a business move – it’s a homecoming. We’re incredibly proud of our heritage, and this partnership with 71 means we can do more of what we love, which is creating better-for-you drinks that people genuinely enjoy, with even more innovation and impact.”
Fantastic news, we are HUGE fans of both companies!
