Pâtisserie Made Simple Masterclass Comes to Crieff

Love to Cook in Crieff will welcome internationally acclaimed pastry chef Maxine Scheckter for a special pâtisserie masterclass on Saturday 16 May.

The event is part of Maxine’s Scottish tour celebrating her debut book, Pâtisserie Made Simple, published by Kitchen Press.

Hosted by Sam Heeney-Governo at Love to Cook, the evening will run from 5pm to 7pm and promises a relaxed but inspiring look at the skill, precision and creativity behind modern pâtisserie.

What to Expect at the Masterclass

Guests will watch Maxine demonstrate two elegant creations from her pâtisserie style:

  • Strawberry Shortcake
  • Speculoos Caramel Petits Gâteaux

The masterclass will explore flavour, technique and the detail involved in contemporary petit gâteau work, while keeping things approachable for keen home bakers.

Tickets are priced at £15, and guests will also take home two pastries from the evening. Signed copies of Pâtisserie Made Simple will be available to purchase on the night.

About Maxine Scheckter

Maxine Scheckter has worked in some of the world’s most celebrated kitchens, including The Fat Duck and Sketch, before founding Sugar Flour in Wellington, New Zealand.

Her work brings together classical pâtisserie technique with a modern, creative approach, making beautiful pastry feel achievable as well as impressive.

A Collaboration with Love to Cook

The Crieff event brings Maxine together with Sam Heeney-Governo, whose work at Love to Cook includes artisan breads, viennoiserie, pastries and specialist classes inspired by her Scottish-Portuguese heritage and time spent in New Zealand’s food scene.
