On Sunday 23rd November 2025, Monachyle Mhor invites guests to slow down and celebrate the art of imperfection with Wabi Sabi Sunday – a full day of hands-on workshops inspired by the Japanese philosophy of finding beauty in simplicity and authenticity.
From 10am to 4pm, the hotel’s atmospheric Dutch Barn (a converted 19th-century farm building) becomes a creative sanctuary where guests can explore traditional crafts, learn new skills, and reconnect with the joy of making something real with their own hands.

For £95 per person, guests experience a full day, including:

Five hands-on workshops led by local artisans and experts

Wire Craft with Sheila Jardine – reuse wire to create unique objects to hang on trees or walls
Bauble Making with Sarah Wright – use fabrics and jewels to craft beautiful baubles
Wreath Making with Lisa Lewis – create seasonal decorations from foraged materials
Letterpress Cards with Ryan – create unique hand-pressed greeting cards
Wabi Sabi Wrapping – discover the Japanese art of beautiful, sustainable gift presentation
