Remember, remember the 3rd of November
It’s World Sandwich Day today so we are celebrating with Foodhub who, unlike rivals Just Eat & Uber Eats, don’t take commission from your local takeaway which is on average around 15%, which means it’s a better deal for the takeaway and for you, as Foodhub is on average 15% cheaper than the others!
Foodhub have recently conducted a survey and found that a quarter of Brits have named the BURGER as their favourite sandwich, followed closely behind by the classic ham and cheese. What’s your favourite sandwich?
We decided to try something different sandwich-wise and picked a chicken tikka hoagie and a chicken tikka burger from a local takeaway, chicken tikka is the flavour for today for us, which is a bit of a change from cheese and pickle or tuna mayo!
Discount
To celebrate World Sandwich Day, Foodhub is offering 10% off at designated restaurants which sell burgers, hotdogs, delis, sandwiches and wraps over the next few days.
To claim your 10% discount, head to the Foodhub app and use code: SANDWICH2020 (expires this Thursday 5th November – £4 maximum redemption).
Did you know
That the sandwich is named after John Montagu, the 4th Earl of Sandwich, who popularised eating beef between two slices of toasted bread when he wanted something convenient to eat whilst gambling.
According to the United States Department of Agriculture, a sandwich can’t be called a sandwich unless it contains at least 35% meat (but no more than 50%)
Thank you to Food Hub who gifted us a code for some sandwiches to celebrate World Sandwich Day!
