Wine with a View is back on the 2nd November for its second outing of 2013. The boutique wine tasting draws on local Edinburgh wine merchants whilst using the unique WineTubeMap® designed to help wine lovers navigate the wines on offer.

The event will be bigger than the first, held across 2 sessions and includes the addition of the Fizz line, the DLR fortified and sweet line, and cooking and cocktail demonstrations.

The tasting is a collaboration between Convivium Wine, creators of the WineTubeMap®, and Bite Magazine. The event is unique in its support for local and independent wine merchants. Wine with a View encourages visitors to meet them and discover the advantages of shopping locally for wine in terms of wine range, personality and customer service.

The event takes place at the Ghillie Dhu Auditorium, and consists of 2 sessions, 11am – 2pm and 3pm – 6pm giving visitors the opportunity to mingle in a relaxed and informal environment.

Eshibitors include Appellation Wines, Art du Vin, Bacco, The Bon Vivant’s Companion, Great Grog, Gulp, Henri’s, Harvey Nichols Wine Shop, Vino Wines and WoodWinters.

Each wine exhibitor will take a section of the WineTubeMap® to show wines of a similar flavour and style profile, from stations on and off of the map. This format helps people discover groups of wines that they like ensures that no two exhibitors will be presenting the same wine resulting in more than 80 distinct wines on the day. Vino will host the Fizz line showcasing a broad selection of bubbles from prosecco to champagne. The Bon Vivant’s Companion will be hosting the newly created DLR line (Delicious, Luscious and Rich) with a range of seasonal sherries, stickies and ports.

Tickets include a canapé flight, with one canapé matched to each line, to inspire some food and wine pairing ideas (and soak up some of the wine!).

Wine with a View is sponsored by Père Magloire Calvados and various calvados-linked cocktail and cooking demonstrations will take place on the day.

The first event, at The Skybar in the Point Hotel in April sold out with 200 attendees and 7 local wine merchants.

Tickets are £18 including a canapé flight with 50 Early Bird tickets available for each session
