Celebrate Chinese New Year this Monday the 8th of February and bring in the Year of the Monkey. Head out to the first-ever George Square Chinese New Year celebration (find out more here).
If it’s Chinese food you’re after then one of the first Chinese restaurants in Glasgow, Amber Regent is one to head to. Operating since the 80’s, Amber Regent a well known part of the Chinese food scene (Note: Amber Regent is closed from Sunday 7th February until Wednesday 10th February as they are busy celebrating!).
We love Lychee Oriental. Is it the excellent food? The stylish interior? Or, the cheeky smile of Jimmy Lee? We don’t know but we love it! Jimmy was a contestant on Great British Menu and his menu is a mix of traditional and modern fusion dishes. Well worth a visit.
Friends Chinese Cafe on High Street is good if you fancy a casual get-together. Drawing a really diverse crowd of patrons, their lunchtime deal of two courses for £5.50 is a real winner.
So Gong Xi Fa Cai (Mandarin) and Gong Hey Fat Choy (Cantonese) and get out there are celebrate.
