What a busy week!

You know those times when you need a week of sleep? Well I think I’ll have one of those now please. Last week was crazy. From the Scottish Entertainment and Hospitality Awards Dinner on the Sunday to a day spent both in Edinburgh and Glasgow.

We were asked to help judge the Mixology Award at The Scottish Entertainment and Hospitality Awards alongside Brugal UK, LA Group, Chef Craig Gozier and Jehad from Grunting Growler.

After much fun, and a three day hangover, it was time for The List Awards – great to meet up with Peter McKenna from The Gannet and James Rusk from Hutchesons/Butchershop. (current Mrs foodie crushes )

Check out the winners as well as where to buy a copy of your guide Here.

Thursday saw us bumping into the lovely Cat Cubie at Osteria del tempo perso at The Italian Centre and celebrating Mr Foodies birthday with a non traditional Colin the Caterpillar!

Look forward to heading back there for a meal (or two).

Firkin Gin launched on Friday in Mark Greenaway’s Bistro Moderne.  Side by side with some delicious food, we were served some cocktails to see how the gin worked.  The gin is aged in American Oak Casks so has a hint of whisky about it, but not enough to taint a G&T or a F&T as they call it.  Firkin Gin, which is released in limited batches of100 bottles at 46% ABV costs £45 for a 70cl bottle and is available from www.gmwhiskyco.com and selected independent spirit merchants.

We were then back through to Glasgow to speak with James Watt at Brewdog about Equity for Punks IV.

Craft Beer Rising also launched their press for this years event, at Drygate.  A tour of the brewery, chat the very lovely Scott Williams as well as food and beer pairing.  It was a hard day (well it was as after all the gin tasting the day before!).  The event looks like to be bigger this year and hopefully we can persude Craft Beer Rising to keep visiting Glasgow.
