Foodie exploring in pictures

Another busy week starting with lunch in Edinburgh and ending with a foodie honeymoon! #FoodieMoon.

Twenty Princes Street Grill & Smokehouse, Edinburgh

This restaurant has it all.  A great view onto Princes Street and a varied menu to keep everyone happy.

Edinburgh laid on the weather, and Twenty Princes Street definitely delivered the food.  Look at this black pudding and haggis French toast starter 😍

Chill out Sunday

On Sunday we chilled out with some scrambled egg, Tobermory smoked trout and Myreside Farm Scottish Asparagus. We had bought Tobermory smoked trout before, and their salmon, at Fizz Feast in Edinburgh. and the Myreside Farm Asparagus came from Fresh Food Express. 😍

View the recipe here.

Dine out in Scotland

Monday saw the launch of Dine out in Scotland by 5pm.  2 or 3 courses (with wine on some deals) for £15.95, bargain.  So a trip Two Fat Ladies in the City was booked.  I hadn’t been there before, usually picking their Buttery location.  The full review is here (I was on top form on Monday!).

McGin Glasgow gin launch

Later on, a visit to 26 Hope St bar for the launch of McGin.  I’d never been in here before as I thought it was part of the snooker place next door and just a pub for men drinking lager, so I was surprised at how it looked inside, with plenty of gin and mostly women in attendance!  Must remember not to take first looks for granted – visit and then decide!

I like the branding, retro Glasgow but not twee.  I wouldn’t mess with Rita!

I’ll get more info on Rita and McGin up soon.

Foodie-Moon

All too quickly the week passed and we would be off to Wales and Cornwall via Cheshire.  Mr Foodie doesn’t half plan a trip!  So we had a quick stop off at Tunnocks Tearoom in Uddingston for breakfast.

As you can see Mr Macaroni was happy with his supplies! 😂
