A week in pictures

Another week has passed and a week In pictures mostly to remind ourselves what we still need to write up!

Mr Foodie was on main blog duty with a trip to Cottiers to see United States of Americana featuring a mixture of American roots music with artists from the USA, Canada, Scotland and England playing.  Not his usual music, but he’s a musical soul so enjoyed widening his musical tastes.  We hear there are plans for bigger, better Americana events in Glasgow. 👍

Mrs Foodie has an unusual time at 111 by Nico taking part in a promo video for their TRUST menu.  Eating dinner blindfolded is a challenge but knowing that you are being videoed as well?! It was a fun day even if I do look a bit scared. 🙂

Later on the Foodies met up for the launch of Bird Cage at Tontine Lane  hidden behind the corner of Bell Street, High Street and Argyle Street.  Tontine Lane held the Heverlee pop-up during the Commonwealth Games.  The cocktails were rocking of course, good to see Vermouth as a staple on the menu! Click here if you’d like to know more.

No rest from launches this week, Glasgow Cocktail Weekend held their launch party and Mr Foodie took the Naked Grouse challenge and tried a trio of whisky cocktails.  More info in Glasgow Cocktail Weekend here.

The cocktails at Glasgow Cocktail Weekend launch party must have been good as there was a cry of “I need carbs” the next day from Mr Foodie.  Never one to say no to carbs, Mrs Foodie helped him with his requirements with brunch at Singl-end Merchant City. 😍

A couple of quiet days to let our livers recover and it was soon the weekend.   What’s best to do at the weekend…Brunch! So we did.  Eventually making it to Kilmurry & Co on Kilmarnock Road.  A popular spot and we discovered why.  THE French toast is HUGE 😍. This is definitely a shareable portion.

Suitably filled bellies we headed along to Barras Art and Design to see “Brooklyn on tour” from Brooklyn Brewery.  A chance to try some new beers, Malaysian food from Julie’s Kopitiam and listen to some tunes from Frogbeats.  Can’t beat a summer evening of food, beer and music!
