Vroni's – July 2012

Vroni’s is a small cosy wine bar for people to look good in, so we expected good food on their lunch menu. How wrong we were 🙁

The menu was quite surprising – lasagne, cheeseburger, macaroni cheese, nachos…is this what wine aficionados like to eat with their Beaujolais? Surely not?

The lasagne (£6.95) was tepid and insipid and came with a slice of garlic bread (sorry no picture). While the burger (£7.95) was…

…well a burger, nothing of excitement here. Really.

This was even more disappointing than our visit to their sister restaurant, The Urban Grill on St. Vincent Place, where I asked for a steak rare and got one exceedingly well done. These places may look the part for wine drinking, just don’t bother with the food…
