Spooky going’s on at Universal Orlando Resort
As i had visited Universal Studios previously, Mr and Mrs Foodie thought it appropriate that i should attend the event.
The main focus of the event was to promote Barrhead Travel’s link up, and promotions with Universal.
After a brief introduction and slide/walkthrough from Barrhead travel Orlando reps, and finally, a PowerPoint presentation on upcoming Halloween attractions from Universal Studios’ Mike Aiello – one of the creative minds behind them.
Barrhead Travel has had a successful collaboration/link up with Orlando Universal Studios for some time time now. Most recent figures have shown a 30% increase in bookings to the resort. There is an interactive facility, exclusively for Universal Studios Orlando resort, in the company’s city centre premises, for those wishing to experience a taste of what lies ahead.
The main event of the evening, was the presentation by UV’s Mike Aiello. Mike has been involved un creating many of the Halloween ‘horrors’ over the years. New ‘Horror Houses’ for this year’s Halloween nights, include Ghostbusters, Universal Monsters, and Netflix’s Stranger Things.

Introduced to coincide with the 35th anniversary of the original movie’s release, this house includes a true copy of the famous fire house, the Temple of Gozer and others. As well as the 4 heroes, characters such as Slimer and Mr Stay Puft make an appearance. Visitors will also be able to experience Janine screeching the immortal words “We got one”..
Rooms within this house include Dracula, Wolfman, Dr Frankenstein, The Mummy, Creature from the Black Lagoon, and others, all in their ‘natural’ habitats.
This all new house allows visitors to walkthrough scenes from Stranger Things 2 and 3. The creative minds behind Universal Studios attractions had unprecedented access to special effects information and processes from the show, in order to reproduce the most realistic versions of monsters, locations etc possible. It is advised that you view both seasons of the show prior to visiting.
Other attractions include Nightingales: Blood Pit, Yeti: Terror of the Yukon, Depths of Fear, Killer Clowns from Outer Space, and more.
