On Saturday 12th July the Millennium Hotel Glasgow  played host to the Toast of the Town 'Sense of Sight' photography event.

Photographer Stuart Dreghorn and a gaggle of bloggers joined for an instructional workshop on how to capture the moment perfectly.

Starting with the basics such as what the auto setting does then what do you do with shutter, aperture and ISO? Stuart was an excellent tutor; nothing was a silly question - well there was...but he didn't make you feel like a complete idiot!

After a full morning of brain work, we needed sustenance. A buffet of Haggis Bon Bons, Scottish Hot Dogs (Venison Sausages served with a rustic bun), Mini Haggis and Steak Burgers, Salmon Bites (served with sesame seed and panko crust and a lemon dill mayonnaise). For dessert we were served Mini Cranachan Towers - a traditional Scottish dessert of summer raspberries folded into cream, flavoured with honey, and toasted oatmeal soaked in whiskey.

Buffet lunch at Millennium Hotel

After lunch it was time to put our skills into practice. Stuart took us outside to capture Glasgow and hone our skills.

Some last minute advice from Stuart

Glasgow always delivers with interesting sights, be they people, buildings or the weather!

This cone has been pretty busy over the games!

And in alley ways

Or just watching their feet!

It was a fun afternoon brushing up on old skills that have been neglected with the auto use of iPhones etc. Stuart was an approachable and friendly guy with the Millennium Hotel being great hosts who provided great food - the salmon was delicious!
