Paisley festival The Spree keeps on growing
Paisley’s The Spree festival returns next month (11-19 October) and there’s another great line-up at this fast-growing festival now into its eighth year.
Glasvegas, Hue and Cry, The Snuts, Gruff Rhys, Karine Polwart, Jerry Sadowitz, PP Arnold and Hayseed Dixie are all scheduled to play the stunning Salon Perdu Spiegeltent located in the Renfrewshire town’s County Square for the duration of the festival.
The Spiegeltent will also host an all-day festival within-a-festival (12 October) with ModStuff, a celebration of all things Mod, including the spectacle of the annual scooter rideout.
The popular Paisley Arts Centre will host a series of gigs (including an appearance by Malcolm Middleton) and film screenings. Add in two late-night Friday comedy sessions led by Fred Macaulay and Scott Gibson respectively, a tribute night to Paisley music legend Gerry Rafferty, a busy kids programme called ‘The Wee Spree’ and a growing ‘Spree for All’ fringe festival in local towns and villages, and you’ve got a bumper programme with plenty on offer for everyone!
Several shows have already sold out, but remaining tickets are available to buy now from the festival website.
