The Tron Theatre Bar & Kitchen renovations have been completed with new cocktail, gin, beer and dining menus.

Executive Head Chef Mark McKenzie and his team have launched Tron Tasting Events.  The team have developed different 5-course tasting menus in association with The Tron partner brands:

Friday August 26th 2016 with Makar Gin
Friday Oct 7th 2016 with Peroni
Friday November 25th 2016 with Belhaven Brewery
Friday January 13th 2017 with Alliance Wines
Friday March 3rd 2017 with Blue Moon Craft Beer

First up is The Glasgow Distillery’s Makar Gin,paired with five sumptuous dishes created from some of the finest locally sourced ingredients.

Start with a roast carrot and star anise velouté, sample grilled langoustine with a lemon and fennel crab cake, follow this with a pan-seared salt cod with braised chicory, then a rump of lamb served with artichoke pureé and black truffle glazed carrots, and finish with a coconut panna cotta, pineapple salsa and passion fruit sorbet.

Each of the Tasting Series events costs £40 per head and places are limited.

I am a member of the Guild of Food Writers and British Guild of Travel Writers.

We have a wide range of judging experience covering products, hotels and have judged, for example, for Great Taste Awards and Scottish Baker of the Year.

Along the way Mark gained WSET Level 2 in Wine and I have WSET Level 2 in Spirits as well as picking up an award with The Scotsman Food and Drink Awards.
