Fund raiser from The Kind Kitchen
For every £600 raised The Kind Kitchen will commission a food truck or caterer to prepare and deliver one hundred meals to local charities and not-for-profit partners.
All money donated via the Go Fund Page www.gofundme.com/f/TheKindKitchen will pay for the service of local street food vendors and independent caterers.
Vanessa Gilpin, founder of Glasgow based StrEAT Events, set up The Kind Kitchen as a way to help both local communities and the industry she is passionate about and says
“The Kind Kitchen initiative is a simple yet effective way we can mobilise the industry, whilst meeting the urgent needs of our communities. We work with a fantastic group of caterers and have the organisational resource to do good, so we feel this is our part to play and are calling people to support us in that.”
In addition to kind donations, help can be given by sharing the fundraiser on social media, donating hygiene supplies, or bulk food ingredients by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org or through their facebook page TheKindKitchenPage
The Kind Kitchen are hoping to raise £100k by the end of May, which will provide over 16,000 meals to people in need and help get local independent caterers back on track.
Donations will not only benefit charities and people in need, but will also help independent caterers to get back to work preparing and delivering meals on demand to local communities
