Ever since I learned to drive and discovered the wonders of heading up Lomondside for a pootle, the sign pointing to The Creggans Inn has taunted me.  Usually heading somewhere else so no time to turn off and discover a good drive, good scenery and food.

This time, we went for it.

After some camping up Oban way, we all decided to stop off for some grub.

Sitting outside to catch the summer sun, we decided on a more casual approach to dinner (that and the midgie bites weren’t too beautiful looking!)

Steak and Ale Pie

with mash and veg £ 11.95

Creamy mash without a hint of a lump, tender veggies not too overcooked.  Crisp pastry and base.  Good chunks of steak too.

Courgette and Chickpea Burger

Courgette, chickpeas and herbs served with fries and relish £10.50

Good big slab of veggies, light tasting, crisp with a moist centre.  Liked this one immensely, not a veggie but a good lighter option for a main.

Home made Angus Burger

In a toasted bun with lettuce, fries and relish ( extra toppings 50p each). £10.95

Good thick burger, fresh toppings and sourdough bun.  Both of these disappeared very quickly.

Overall, good food and prices.  Quick service and beautiful scenery.  Would have liked to have seen some home made chips instead.
