Tea House on the Loch, Gartcosh

Gorgeous setting next to Johnston Loch.  This is a garden centre with an attached cafe, well more like a cafe with a couple of plants outside.  Bit of a strange setting but the staff are friendly, clean toilets and some good lunch nosh.  cheese n ham toastie  and a steak toastie with two drinks came to £8.

Sun was shining, some nice scenery – bliss

Only downside was the coffee, bit watery – i think the coffee bean was at the other side of the loch waving.  Tea is ok tho 🙂

You can also buy home grown tomatoes etc and pay in the honesty box, watch out for the terracotta warriors inside!

Personally I found the Teahouse had excellent services. It appears to be in the process of extension being built which might have put someone off but all OK as far as I am concerned.

The Teahouse is a great place to sit and relax, the food is great and the staff very friendly. It is now open till 6 pm on weekdays and till 9pm on Saturdays. A three course menu costs £13.50 or so which I think is great value. We will be back, this is a little haven not far from the city and well worth a visit.

Tea house on the loch is getting better every time we visit. They have a lovely new extension with a fantastic view of Johnston loch from each table. Our friend had their wedding at the tea house and it was amazing!!

My friend and I often visit the tea house for lunch and every time the food and service is perfect. It’s a great place to relax and eat and I’m still working my way through trying all of the toasted sandwiches.
