Itsu store on Great Portland Street opens
Itsu have opened the first of its robotic ‘store of the future’ on Great Portland Street, catering for a post-Covid world. The store has been designed to reduce touchpoints across the board, featuring cashless kiosk screens, sushi robots from Japan and a central collection point rather than communal fridges.
To reduce multi handling by staff and customers, the store offers cashless kiosk screens for ordering and a central collection point rather than fridges to reduce multi handling. Customers can then customise their favourite itsu dishes through the digital order points.
As well as a new regime for food serving over 70% of dishes are under 500 calories. All hot dishes will be steamed and include strong flavours with steamed wholegrain brown rice bowls, noodle bowls with fragrant Asian-inspired broths, detox soups and our steamed gyoza. 35 dishes are available on the menu; all have the ability to go light with vegetables and protein only options. Plus over a third of the menu is now plant-based.
New dishes available at itsu Great Portland Street include
line caught tuna bento – fresh yellowfin tuna nigiri, tuna maki with ginger & chives and baby avo rolls with protein packed wakame
veggie meatballs & coconut pot’soup – veggie Meatless Farm ® meatballs, wholegrain brown rice, seasonal greens, pumpkin seeds, thai spiced coconut soup
