Sugar Rush is located in a strange no man’s land between Darnley Street and St. Andrew’s Road. We passed by one day in the car and thought it looked intriguing, so had to pop in.
Popular with the local community, the cafe was busy when we visited. A large display of ice cream morphs into some kind of art deco/rocket/car shaped serving area.
At first sight of the menu we thought hmm a little dear, but then the ice cream came out….huge…and you could safely feed two people from one of these!
The Gulub Jamin Sundae (£4.95) has two scoops of Equi’s double cream vanilla ice cream, three gulab jamun, chocolate sauce, whipped cream and a wafer.
With this I added to the sugar coma with a hot chocolate
Mr Foodie went for a crepe and a chai.
Peanut butter crunch crepe cone £3.25 – freshly made crepe, warm with melting peanut butter centre. It may look a little bit disappointing looking in comparison to the above but the option to add ice-cream was available, Mr Foodie just thought he would try being healthy for once!
Overall friendly service, delicious food and it’s open until midnight for those late night sugar cravings!
