Spice Aroma, Kilmarnock Road, Glasgow – Jan 2011 ****CLOSED ****

Can’t be bothered January carry out.  Takeaway with small sit in area.  More fast food than restaurant.

Zeera Achari Balti with Lamb £6.95

Lamb Biriyani £6.95

Slightly more spicey for the Zeera than the Biriyani, but not much.  Pretty bland, average carry out curry.  Good sized portions, enough for two dinners each (as usual they tasted better day 2).

Friendly service with some freebies thrown in.  However not enough taste to justify going back.

Went there yesterday. bought 15 inch meat feast pizza and chicken tikka kebab. My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed the food and would wholeheartedly recommend it. Staff were very friendly and informative. Will try Curry next time(I think it helps if you explain how you want it e.g. medium or spicey) but will feedback on how the curry tasted! As a sidenote the pizza is fresh dough made daily apparently. Certainly tasted fresh.

The Zeera curry was handed over with a “it’s a spicy one” which as it’s Glasgow would be expected as a good kick. It was passable, but the same taste as the gazillion other kebab/pizza/curry houses around.

Glad to hear about the freshly made bases, will have to try that – make a change from the usual pre-bought bases that are generally used.

Staff seem friendly shame about the food. Wouldnt class this as a curry shop, more a burgers and chips. Every time you go there are diffrent staff/owners..

I have been buying curries for months here and not had a bad one. Ask the staff and they make it any way i like. They suit all budgets with curry deals, set meals, tea time specials and full curry portions. I have been living in shawlands for almost 20 years and trust me they are the best in the area. Nice friendly atmosphere and comfortable and very clean waiting area (unlike others in the area) met the owner many times very friendly chap and as far as I know he has been there the whole time(so maybe some misinformation Jay Jay)
