Sir John Stirling Maxwell, Wetherspoons, Shawlands – Sep 2012

Wetherspoons appear to have extended their menu quite a bit since the last time I had breakfast.  Seems like something for all now and not just fry ups.  Porridge, Pancakes and even Eggs Benedict 🙂

We went for Eggs Benedict (£3.99 inc tea/coffee) and Pancakes (£2.30)

Pancakes, syrup and bacon were great, another slice of bacon so one per pancake would have made it ideal.

Not vinegary hollandaise (although a bit tasteless), good poached eggs some more toasting on the muffin would’ve been better.

A large dining area in this one, always seems to be popular with families.

Good value breakfast if you need to get out the house, or need a pint with your breakfast!

Oddly enough I’ve never been back to that pub since I found a ‘foreign object’ in a cocktail pitcher, and the barman seemed surprised when I refused to accept it back after he fished the thing out. No, I never worked out what it was either.
