RUDE-OLPH IS COMING TO TOWN (FOR A PINT)

08/12/2017 by Mr Foodie Leave a Comment

TENNENT’S UNVEIL NEW CHRISTMAS TEMP

Sleigh bells are ringing from Wellpark Brewery to pubs across Scotland as the boss of Christmas cheer touches down in Scotland before the big day. No, not Santa, there’s a new guy coming to town courtesy of Tennent’s Lager, and all he wants for Christmas is to sort out your patter for your next night out.

Rude-olph, the bad-mouthed Scots reindeer is serving up Christmas tips, advice and patter this month to keep you on track, from what to buy your mum to how to get a kiss under the mistletoe. Taking form as a mounted reindeer head animated with festive banter, Rude-olph will be touring bars around Scotland, interacting with Christmas partygoers. He can be a bit gruff, so remember to be good for goodness sake!

Mr Foodie went along to see Rude-olph and get some tips about Christmas at The Raven in Glasgow last night.

His tour kicks off at The Raven in Glasgow this Friday, (8th December)  then he’ll be flying east to The Black Bull in Edinburgh, before heading up north to Taybridge Bar in Dundee and Bridge St Social in Aberdeen.

If you don't get the opportunity to meet Rude-olph in bars across Scotland don't fret! A virtual, mobile version of the red-nosed, hard-faced reindeer will be available online to help consumers with all their Christmas quandaries, and you can catch a glimpse of him in all his glory in Tennent’s hilarious preview video here: https://youtu.be/OUvCbt5S38fn

Alan McGarrie, Head of UK Brand Marketing at Tennent’s, said: “We’re all excited to be introducing Scotland to our newest furry Christmas temp. From buying the right perfume for your mum to finding a date for Christmas dinner, we all sometimes need a X-mas expert to point us in the right direction.

“That’s why we’ve appointed our man Rude-olph, so people can spend less time Christmas shopping this year and more time enjoying Scotland’s favourite lager.”

You can catch Rude-olph making a real-life appearance on his in-bar tour at:

- The Raven, Glasgow (8 & 9 Dec)
- The Black Bull, Edinburgh (14, 15 & 16 Dec)
- Taybridge Bar, Dundee (21, 22 & 23 Dec)
- Bridge St Social, Aberdeen (28, 20 & 30 Dec)
