Celebrate Ginger!

It’s all about ginger cocktails and ginger dishes this Thursday in the West End as Pickled Ginger restaurant celebrates its second anniversary with a Japanese ten dish tasting menu and masterclasses with Nikka Whisky.

On Thursday 22nd June from 6pm until late, Pickled Ginger will be celebrating with a menu that has drawn inspiration from Tokyo to Seoul.  For £20pp, the tasting menu includes a selection of ten dishes including homemade pork gyoza dumplings, Yaki Sake – marinated Scottish salmon cuts in a Japanese fusion of spices and soy, and the traditional marinated sizzling beef and vegetables, with steamed rice, lettuce wraps, and Korean barbeque sauce.The sushi on offer sounds delicious with volcano rolls, spicy tuna, smoked salmon and cream cheese.

The menu also includes a cocktail made with Japanese whisky, Nikka whisky from the barrel, lemongrass, then finished and topped with everyones favourite ginger – Irn Bru. This will complement a refreshing dessert of mango mochi.

Nikka Whisky will also be at Pickled Ginger holding tastings and sharing the Nikka heritage from founder Masataka Taketsuru’ time at Glasgow University to setting up the first whisky distillery in Japan.

As part of their birthday celebrations, the restaurant is offering different dishes and cocktails at £6 each, every week throughout June and July. 🍸🍣
