Park Inn, 139 West George Street, Glasgow Review

Modern budget hotel in central Glasgow

We had a little peek into the newest addition to the Glasgow hotel world on Friday, Park Inn on 139 West George Street was a little messy with last-minute prep but still looked the part.

Working with Historic Scotland, the refurbishment of this former Building at Risk, has saved some great architectural details as well as providing a modern hotel environment.

5th-floor rooms have access to quirky architectural delights such as balustrades and a peek at the city skyline.

Self-service check-in, as well as a manned reception desk provides a flexible service. The eating and bar areas are modern but with a hint of the old building underneath with the panels and ceiling details.

Wifi is available throughout the hotel, high ceilings create an airy feeling and the secondary glazing keeps the period windows but cuts down on the noise.

Functional rooms, modern decor but some lovely period accents. Great city-centre location as well.
