Borough restaurant in Leith now open

Independent restaurant, Borough, opens this weekend in Leith and Mr Foodie went along to their preview/launch last night.

Ex-Norn Head Chef Darren Murray heads up a brigade serving dishes including appetisers, such as charcuterie, and a selection of savoury and sweet plates such as Courgette Tart with Nasturtium and Mackerel Tartare with Green Strawberry and Elderflower.

Borough have a wide selection of wine – with over 20 available by the glass. So you’ll be sure to find something you like.

Borough’s soft launch will run between Saturday 7 and Friday 20 of July, offering guests 20% off their food bill, as a thank you for welcoming the restaurant.

I am Emma and with my husband Mark write Foodie Explorers, which is a food and travel website.

I am a member of the Guild of Food Writers and British Guild of Travel Writers.

We have a wide range of judging experience covering products, hotels and have judged, for example, for Great Taste Awards and Scottish Baker of the Year.

Along the way Mark gained WSET Level 2 in Wine and I have WSET Level 2 in Spirits as well as picking up an award with The Scotsman Food and Drink Awards.
