New Hotel Opening – Fonab Castle

The beautiful Fonab Castle opens it’s doors this June as a five star (grading pending) hotel.

Originally built in 1892 by Architect Andrew Heiton for Lt Col George Glas Sandeman, the port and sherry merchant family.  It was used as a British Red Cross hospital from 1915 to 1918.  Since 1946, the property was used by the North of Scotland Hydro Electric Board.  

Loch Faskally has some breathtaking scenery and we are great fans of the Pitlochry area so we are sure this will  add to the thriving hotel scene.

The hotel will have a total of 26 rooms housed in the castle as well as in a tasteful modern annex. Most of the modern rooms boast direct access to the lochside.

At the heart of the castle accommodation is the bridal suite featuring a luxurious, oversized bed and a vaulted ceiling as well as a separate luxury bathroom and walk-in shower.

Fonab Castle Hotel will feature eight rustic, yet luxurious lodges and have private hot tubs within its extensive grounds.

The hotel is aiming at five star level and will feature a panoramic, glass fronted restaurant with stunning loch views, serving delicious, locally and internationally inspired dishes in a stylish, yet casual setting.

Additional facilities include heated and air-conditioned dog kennels, and a destination spa – complete with treatment rooms, gym and pool – all set to open later in 2013.
