Michelin blind spot to Glasgow?

Edinburgh has gained another Michelin star restaurant according to this BBC report.  The new awards for the whole of the UK can be found here, with the full list for 2012 here. For the eighth year in a row not one Glasgow restaurant has merited a single star when Amaryllis closed in 2003. Does Glasgow excel at the lower end of the budgetary scale with better value for money restaurants? Does the placing of the Scottish Government in Edinburgh make a difference? (schmoozing lunches?)
