Canadian-style ice cream with crazy flavours

Peacock’s Ice Cream provides homemade Canadian-style ice cream which can be delivered nationwide for you to enjoy – the catch? You need to get in quick to order each week before they go.  Jennifer Clapp started making Canadian style ice cream during the pandemic and the business has grown from her own kitchen to a properly fitted-out creamery. Find out here what Canadian ice cream is, what the flavours are, how to order and, of course, how it tastes.

What is Canadian ice cream?

Canadian ice cream has a custard base using cream, milk, sugar and eggs, similar in taste to Italian gelato.

Peacock’s ice cream

Peacock’s Ice Cream make their ice cream from scratch with no pre-made bases nor do they bulk it up with air.

Peacock’s ice cream flavours

This is the best bit. Each fortnight there are new flavours to discover. Past flavours include boozy butterscotch butter pecan, ginger, pear and chocolate as well as miso plum and much much more.

How to order

Orders open every week on Sunday at 9 pm (until sold out) for delivery / pick up the following week.  The fortnights’ flavours will be announced 15 minutes before they go on sale. So you have time to decide what you want to order before there is too much pressure.

Just add the ice cream to your cart and select your preferred shipping / local delivery / pick up options. Peacock Ice Cream offer local deliveries in Glasgow on Friday nights or Saturdays throughout the day. Alternatively, you can collect your order from their creamery on Thursdays or from BAM on Nithsdale Road in Strathbungo on either Saturday or Sunday.

Don’t worry if you live outside of Glasgow but want the ice cream – DHL Next Day Delivery will bring it to your door! The cost of shipping is £10, this includes the next day charge and specialist packaging to ensure your ice cream arrives in top condition. The minimum purchase is four tubs of ice cream, which after seeing the flavours, won’t be hard to do, just make sure that you have the required freezer space (you’ll probably be eating one when the arrive anyway!).

Buy at BAM Glasgow

Available exclusively at BAM Glasgow is the Bampot. These are half size tubs (250ml) if a full pint is too much for you. These may be be ideal for taking into Queen’s Park on a sunny day.

The Bampot flavours will change monthly, taking inspiration from the amazing coffee on sale at BAM Glasgow.

The first Bampot flavour is Smooth Operator: a Madagascan vanilla bean ice cream with chunks of chocolate and walnut fudge with a swirl of apple-infused salted caramel.

BAM Glasgow will also be selling pint sizes of Peacock’s ice cream as well. 😍

Is there vegan ice cream?

There is, we haven’t tried this yet, but it is on the to-eat list.

Peacock’s ice cream review

So what flavours did we buy and what did they taste like.

peacocks ice cream vanilla cherry chocolate in tubCreamy Madagascan vanilla ice cream with Amarena cherries and a cherry ripple. Finished off with chunks of Belgian milk chocolate throughout. Creamy vanilla with lashings of fillings. Mrs Foodie was in heaven here, she believes that there is no finer combination than ice cream and Amarena cherries.

peacocks ice cream yumyum and then some

Next up, Yum Yum infused ice cream loaded with milk chocolate covered potato crisps(?!) and peanut butter fudge nuggets. A crazy combination, but it works. Lots of different textures and tastes in this pot. The chocolate covered crisps were interesting and provided a savoury crunch.

Superb ice cream and we’ll have to pull out shedloads of will power each fortnight not to order a freezer load.
