Horton’s, 92 West George Street, Glasgow

Horton’s was a spur of the moment lunch decision.  The weather was sunny and there were empty seats in the sun, plus an express lunch and express was needed.

Hortons Menu

Not the most inspiring menu for a lunch time, especially if you are trying to cut down on carbs.  We both chose wraps.  You have to go inside and order at the bar, prepaying as well (I’m not a big fan of paying before seeing what you get).

Hortons_Kebab_cousLamb Kofta Wrap – Lamb koftas with cous cous, sweet chilli and yoghurt dressing

Crisps, basic salad with no dressing.  Filling was a bit dry and the lamb had none of that kofta taste.

Hortons_Meat_Wrap Speck, Salami and Stilton wrap with rocket and red onion.

Crisps, can’t they stick more salad, and like real salad not just a small handful of leaves.  Thankfully the wrap was easy to remove to be more low carby.  Stilton was creamy, speck was never speck in its life – rather a poor quality parma ham.  The salami was greasy and both were warm – possibly from the pannini machine grilling, so this made them greasier.

Overall, nice to get some sun, but squeezed into a small area with no table service is a bit meh, the food decidedly average – there is much better to be had, but we’ve tried it, and won’t be back.
