We met up with the chaps of  Gastro Punx earlier this year and made it to their first proper Guerilla cooking event.

pre dinner smoke

Dinky, salty and fluffy roll (up?!) accompanied our smoked ash tray.  Thankfully the ashtrays were clean and new.  Like a cullen skink without the cullen or skink?!, chopped tatties, crispy onions/leek? and a lovely smokey base.

Apologies for the lack of notes for this one, it was like a gathering of friends rather than an “event”.  We all spent our time chatting, drinking and figuring out what was in each dish.   All the staff handled the evening really well, it felt as if we were in their home and had a most relaxed night.  The dishes came out at the correct temperature, within the time required to keep momentum and they did really well considering the restrictions on equipment and kitchen size. The food was delicious, service friendly and a great idea.

Some new friends made, some older friends re-aquainted with and a great night was had.  We were even asked to supply the names of some favourite tunes to keep the evening flowing, a very nice touch.

Keep your eyes on their Facebook page for up to date developments.
