Foodies Festival, Inverleith Park, Edinburgh – August 2012

It was Foodies time again and after giving away tickets on our Twitter page, we thought we should at least go along ourselves!

A gaggle of impressive restaurant stalls, our first stop was Mark Greenaway’s (above) for hake and slow roasted pork belly, however as tasty as both dishes were, they were tepid  and we couldn’t be bothered queuing then not being able to get a seat again.

Other stalls included coconut water or coconut cocktails

Hot churros and hot chocolate

as well as Llama sausage. Loads of stalls selling all sorts of food and drink (40 kinds of cider anyone?)

Free beer samples, new export brand, very nice tasting too.

the sun brought a lot of folk out for a visit.

The smell from the smokies stall was amazing.  I could have stood there all day (with an accompanying pint from Black Isle next stall).  The small smokie kept two of us happy.

stash of purchases 🙂  some lovely food and drink on offer, freebies to taste and sun helped the day along. Look forward to next year.
