A week in pictures – Edinburgh escapades with Foodie Explorers

A quiet start to the week with Mr Foodie having Monday off for the Glasgow Fair holiday.  Surprisingly it stayed dry but we were tired so stayed local and pottered around the house trying to make it tidy, and once again failing!

Wednesday was a busy day.  Lunch with the Colonel at the newly opened Absurd Bird.  👍 for non-greasy tasty fried chicken.  Review up soon(ish)!

Then a committee meeting with Action for Children Yes Chef – will have more about this very soon. Then a family dinner at 111 by Nico.  Old Father Foodie likes 111 by Nico that much he returned a week after reviewing it!

First stop, Galvin Brasserie de luxe for their Bouillabaisse Friday deal.  Bouillabaisse and a glass of wine for £18.  👍 for price and taste.

Later on dinner was The Radhuni in Loanhead.

A deceptively large restaurant with portions to match .  Great to see a few fish dishes on the menu,  we ❤️ curried fish.

Radhuni loanhead curry Saturday consisted of some Leith Walk window shopping and lunch at the brand new Borough Restaurant.

Then a catch up with a chum over a glass of wine (or three….!) rekindling my love of Riesling in Leith.

Another review beckoned, this time Taisteal in Stockbridge.  Thankfully a short bus journey away. Review up soon!

Back to our accommodation off Leith Walk for some entertainment by fellow residents – who knew that Patrick Swayze’s “She’s like the wind” sounded like cats screeching 😂 well we do now!  At least it covered the sounds of the seagulls (Anyone else fed up with their morning singing? 🤬)!

Morning arrived far too quickly but a bacon naan and keema per eedu from Dishoom put a smile on our faces before our journey back west.  If only Glasgow had a Dishoom. 😍

Here’s  hoping next week is a quieter one, especially with them seagulls!
