Food Review: Wee Lochan, 340 Crow Road, Glasgow, G11 7HT

The Wee Lochan is one of those places that we always seemed to pass and say “must go there”.  We eventually did get around to visiting with friends and we are glad we did.

A relaxing, informal and comfortable interior.  Quickly seated by staff and made to feel welcome.  It was like visiting a friends house, cosy; full of chatter.

Outside

After checking out the set menu, we all went for this.  We all liked the sound of the trio of fish.

Lunch set menu

We all decided to try out the wine flights, reasonably priced at £15.95 for the “adventurous” set and £20.95 for the “classics”, each provided four ample glasses of wine. We were given the option of how we would like our wine and we chose to have 1 glass per course (with the first glass served with the bread rolls below).

White coffee with cranberry fudge

Quite a milky coffee.

All 5 of us enjoyed a really filling meal – delicious food, well presented & well cooked. £160 for three courses for 5 people, 4 had wine flights and we all had a tea/coffee to finish, a great price as we were totally stuffed for the rest of the day, so much so we forwent dinner!

Service relaxed and unobtrusive.
Toilets small but importantly clean.
