Food: James Martin Kitchen, Glasgow Airport

Mr Martin had moved into the airport catering business.  Our flight was delayed so we ventured in to see what was on offer.

Lots of seating – benches, stools and chairs. Charging points available at area with bar stools.

The sandwiches, wraps and baguettes on sale plus soup and burgers.  It’s all a bit Pret A Manger.

Lots of pretentious snackage on offer.

Interesting array of muffins.

After all that…we just got a flat white and a tea.  Nice coffee but the PG Tips Earl Grey was as weak as a kitten’s mew.

£5 for these, which left us, as Dave Gorman would say, Shaftified.

No banana for scale, so a napkin will have to do.

Ok place to sit. Better coffee than Starbucks across the way.

TL;DR

+ kinda quiet so no queue
+ charging points
+ good coffee
+ good choice of muffins

– expensive pre-made sandwiches
– trying to be hip but failing with tea selection (PG Tips!)

I grabbed food here on Friday the 23rd. Very disappointing. Pulled pork sandwich – it was in a 10p roll from Asda… and the pulled pork was mainly just sauce.

      Bet it wasn’t cheap either!

£10 for a basic burger and no sides. Nice but not that special. Bit of a rip-off

Classic Burger NINE POUNDS AND FIFTY PENCE !!!
    1 x Morton’s Roll
    1x slice tomato
    1x lettuce leaf
    Heavily smeared mayo
    Heavily smeared tomato sauce
    1x burger, standard size
    Overcharged, overrated,

Would leave well alone, coffee not that good either

At this place as I type and bought that same burger for my 6year thinking we could share it together before our flight. Measliest burger I have ever come across. £9.50 with no salad or chips and a rubbish burger in a budget nap. Absolutely awful and an insult to paying customers. Staff were alright and, interestingly enough, said that they hear complaints about the lack of value for money every day.

I won’t be coming here again and advise no one else to either.

Visited here Friday 22nd Sep 2017. Absolutely shambolic behind the counter. Staff seem to be running about aimlessly. People coming back up to counter to find out what had happened to their order. People being served up a drink they hadn’t ordered. As commented elsewhere in this thread, didn’t but any food as prices were too high. Tables not being cleared, floor round our table was filthy (lunchtime) with a large dollop of brown sauce just where I sat. Will NOT be back here again. Think again, James Martin!

Rubbish. Food isn’t fresh, sausage meat was awful just fat. Staff grumpy. They should just shut down this place. Waste of money off now to get some good food.

The review is spot on. It was quiet for a reason. £9.50 for a burger .. what arrived was a burger, a shard of lettuce, and a thin slice of tomato. No chips, no drink with that, not even any relish (the cokes were ruinously expensive too). £37.50 all up.
Add in irritating muzak that the staff claimed couldn’t be turned down (what is it with airports that they insist on the total absence of anywhere quiet to sit and think?) and I most certainly won’t be back.
To put it in perspective when we got home we got four lovely dishes (three meat one veg), rice and a bottomless pot of Jasmine tea at our local Chinese restaurant for less than that.
James Martin (whoever he is – maybe some robber baron marketing invention at Starbucks, who I think own the chain) – p*ss taker extraordinaire.

Disappointed! 30 minute wait for 2 Bacon Rolls and 2 coffees at a cost of over £15. As we were running short of time to get flight we asked manageress how much longer service would be ….reply from this rude lady was YOU NEED TO BE PATIENT we are busy! Considering there were 5 staff faffing about behind counter this highlights a staff training need. Maybe Gordon Ramsey could sort out this dreadful service. Regular traveller thru Glasgow Airport but will not be using again.
