Fathers Day: Where to take Dad in Edinburgh and Glasgow

fathers day

fathers day

It’s the one time you can thank dad for his bad jokes, picking you up at 2am when you lost your wallet and for making the best fry up for your Sunday hangover.  We’ve put together some suggestions for both Edinburgh and Glasgow to help you along the way.

Glasgow

Drygate Brewery

If your dad loves a beer then head along to Drygate.  It’s relaxed, has great food and if he can’t find a beer on tap here or in their bottle shop… I don’t know what we are to do with him!   Check out our visit HERE. Drygate Brewery

The Gannet

The Gannet is somewhere to take dad for a special night. It’s not cheap but the three AA rosette food and the friendly staff make it a worthy visit and one you will remember.  Check out our visit HERE. The Gannet Glasgow

Edinburgh

The Mumbai Mansion

The Mumbai Mansion isn’t far from Haymarket Railway station if taking a trip to Edinburgh and is handy for public transport as you’ll no doubt be having a cocktail of two in here (or next door at The Jolly Botanist)  Delicious food and friendly service.  Check out our review HERE. Dine with Stuart Muir

It’s a bit hard to find Dine with Stuart Muir but tie this evening up with a show at Traverse Theatre and you won’t miss it!  We had one of our best H meals of 2015 in here.  Check out our visit HERE and find out more on their WEBSITE. Traverse Theatre

Edinburgh New Town Cookery School

Not an evening out but this could make evenings in with dad much tastier.  Pick a cookery course at Edinburgh New Town Cookery School and he will be whipping up delicious meals in no time.  We learned to make sushi and dumplings on our visit HERE Check out the latest summer school offerings HERE.
