John Quigley Tennents training academy cooking class

Glasgow’s own rock ‘n’ roll chef, John Quigley of the Red Onion., will be leading a masterclass at Tennents Training Academy this April.  He will be giving cooks the full culinary experience, from the fish market to the final garnish, at an exclusive event held at Tennents Training Academy in Wellpark Brewery.

Wannabe chefs join John Quigley to try their hand at fish dishes with a twist.  Guests will hand pick their produce before taking part in a Tennent’s Tour and beer tasting session. With John’s expert assistance, guests will then pair their fish with their pint of choice to create a battered fish uniquely suited to their palette.

John has a rock n roll background as a chef to the stars, including Bryan Adams, Tina Turner and rock band, Guns and Roses.

Sitting round the table, John’s sous-chefs can pick up tips and tricks for their favourite dishes while hearing stories of his time on the tour bus.

Chef John Quigley said:

“Cooking and great beer are two great passions of mine, so seeing these come together in this masterclass is fantastic. I enjoy creating dishes that people know and love so beer battered fish felt like the right dish for our Glasgow audience.

“We’ve created an event that will give guests the full foodie experience, starting at the fish market and finishing up at the dinner table. Getting the opportunity to sample beer for the recipe will be a really fun element of the day.”
