Helping young people gain skills and confidence

We were tired but found the energy to support Yes Chef 2016 and Action for Children Scotland on Friday.

Action for Children Scotland work with companies such as Tennent’s Training Academy, Two Fat Ladies, Porrelli, Porter and Rye and many more to give young people a chance to develop skills on the hospitality sector.

Two teams battled to win the Yes Chef 2016 voting.  Each table attending voting on each course supplied by each team.  All the participants in the Yes Chef event were moving on to work experience placements in some of Glasgow’s top restaurants, so everyone was a winner.

Both teams cooked and served the meals to a filled hall – a challenge for a professional.

It was hard to pick a winner, however we thought the Red Team just added more flavouring by the way of herbs and spices to their dishes.

Whilst eating, hosts Des and Jennie kept us chuckling and raising money with raffles, auctions and the fork and spoon game.

At the end of the day, the red team won. Much congratulations to all the participants, delicious food and skills acquired.
