We have a nosey at the first Scottish Drinks Festival

Yesterday saw us visit the Scottish Drinks Festival at The Briggait and if you are thinking of going to see it today, here’s a taste of what you’ll get.

There was a huge selection of drinks to sample.  Some we knew about and some we didn’t.  So even if you are a gin fanatic or know your way around a good rum, there’s bound to be something new here you haven’t tried.

Drinks were supplied from lots of different companies including Makar Glasgow Gin, Strathearn, Deanston, Bunnahabhain, Old J Rums, Fallen Beer, Elephant Gin, Fraiser of Scotland, Poleta wine, Shetland Reel and One Gin…. phew! Would we survive making our way through the samples?  It was a hard challenge, but one we accepted, all for the blog of course !😂

There was a queue at the door and we were all eager to get inside and see what was on offer.

Inside there were lots of different stalls with everything from prosecco to flavoured rum on offer.  Each stall had a selection of samples to try, and you could find out more about each drink. No pressure to buy at the stalls, as you can buy from the bottle shop when leaving.

The Frasier cocktail was so tasty.  It’s a whisky/strawberry mix but don’t let that put you off!  It was delicious on its own – a bit like drinking strawberry chocolate box chocolates.  Mixed with ginger ale it tasted just like Pimms. 😍👌
