The Avenue: Newton Mearns shopping centre hosts Lunch and Learn session

The Avenue shopping centre in Newton Mearns launch their second ‘On The Avenue Lunch and Learn’ session, where customers can reserve their place to learn a new skill, while dropping by the centre.

On the 29th and 30th September, The Avenue are holding a range of interactive sessions including a producer’s market, kid’s food activities, sampling and giveaways, along with Cook School Scotland offering tricks of the trade with their informative cookery demonstrations.

The second session, ‘Dining on The Avenue’ will also see beGin from Glasgow’s Hilton. BeGin, who stock over 90 gins, will host a gin themed talk and masterclass, which will include details of which foods partner perfectly with gin on the 29th.

Event timings for Friday 29th September:

Cook School Scotland 30 minute cookery demonstrations

No reservation required, but we recommend arriving early for a seat at this one!

11:30am – Cullen skink
1:30pm – Perfect Steak with chimichurri sauce
3:30pm – Caramelised Pears with Marsala, Mascarpone and Amaretto crumb

12 noon, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm

11:30am – Peppered Loin of Roe Deer with Beetroot and Hazelnut Salad
1:30pm – Pan fried Sea bream with warm sweet potato and chorizo salad
3:30pm – Vanilla Panna Cotta with orange and chocolate biscotti
