Starting this Thursday (30th June) at the Canons’ Gait pub on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh is the first of many regular beer and food pairings. On the last Thursday of each month they will invite a Scottish brewer in to pair a selection of their beers with food prepared from the Canons’ Gait’s kitchen.

First up is the very new (and local) Campervan Brewery from Edinburgh.

What you get on the night: 4 courses with 4 paired beers plus a welcome drink and the founder of Campervan, Paul Gibson, will be on hand to talk you through the beers and tell the story behind the brewery.

The Menu:
1) Kraken glazed smoked ham hough and lamb’s liver terrine, apple rosti, chilli and lime mange tout
2) Fresh herb crusted cod, chorizo crisp, soured buttermilk espuma and fried pea shoots
3) Seared wood-pigeon, chargrilled asparagus, beetroot and vanilla puree, exotic leaves and baby herbs
4) Blue Murder cheesecake, sour cherry confiture and walnut brittle

Tickets can be ordered from EventBrite.
