Drink Review: The Baby Grand, 3-7 Elmbank Gardens, Glasgow G2 4NQ

Serving Glasgow for over 30 years the Baby Grand Bar & Grill must be doing something right.  I’ve only had coffee here at meetings so after a hard slog at SECC, we nipped in for a quick pint.

Outside

I’d forgotten how good it is here.  Peaceful with just chatter in the background, cosy too, thankfully as it was bitterly cold outside – the phone lens steamed up with the cold/heat.  I’m always reminded of the Rogano bar when visiting, with the woodwork, nods to Art Deco and friendly staff.

The bar is long and narrow and looks a bit American with the diner stools. There’s a good selection of beer on tap, as well as an impressive gin selection, and while other patrons were enjoying the gin we thought it was a pint of Joker kind of night.

The food menu looked good, classics on there such as chicken liver pate as well as steaks, burgers and even smoothies!

I won’t leave it so long next time, and may perhaps indulge in some food…

You’ve just reminded me of somewhere I used to go to for lunch regularly when I worked in Dalmore House on St Vincent Street many moons ago. It was a great place with a fantastic atmosphere then and I’m really pleased to see its still going strong! Fionna
