Taking care during Coronavirus outbreak

What is Coronavirus/Covid-19

Covid-19 is a new member of the coronavirus family.  It has originated from animals and those initially infected worked in the seafood wholesale market.

What are the symptoms

The virus can cause pneumonia. Symptoms include coughs, fever and difficulty breathing.  The strength of your immune system will determine recovery.  As this is viral pneumonia, antibiotics are of no use. The strength of your immune system is what matters here.

What is the NHS advice

Current medical advice is that if you have recently travelled from areas affected by coronavirus, you should:

* stay indoors.

* avoid contact with other people.

* call NHS 111 to inform them of your recent travel.

The NHS also advise to:-

  • wash your hands regularly
  • cover your mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze.
  • avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean.

Mask Coronavirus

There is currently no evidence that you can catch coronavirus from parcels, letters or from food.  This is because viruses, such as coronavirus, cannot live for very long outside the body.

Here’s a guide on how to thoroughly wash your hands.
