Coffee: Shoreditch Grind, 213 Old Street, London EC1V 9NR

Shoreditch Grind stands out from other coffee shops, not least due to its circular build and edge of a roundabout location. It’s an espresso bar, cocktail bar and has recording studios upstairs – what a combination!

As expected inside is hipster central decor wise, however it was laidback and not at all posery.  The coffee, cakes and food did the talking.

House blend coffee, which you can buy here, was perfect.  You could also tell the baristas have skill.  Lovely clean coffee taste, no bitterness from badly cleaned machines and beans that have been sitting too long.

I can’t even remember what I had in this place – I suspect it was an after-hours cocktail – but I remember loving the atmosphere. Another one for the list next time I’m down London way!
