Clark & Sons, 14 Busby Road, Clarkston, Glasgow

Clark & Sons has been open since 2010 but we keep forgetting to go, we made it this time.  Beers on draught include Estrella, Peroni, Heinekin, Best, Tennents, Bitter and Twisted as well as Schihallion.

Whisky selection is a little small for a Scottish bar however vodka, gin and rum were well represented.  Also served is Suki tea, an excellent tea with lovely tea pots.

After the farmers market we needed some food as we discovered we hadn’t eaten all day!  Thankfully breakfast runs until 4:30pm, hurrah!  However, once we saw the wine and dine menu we jumped at it.

I went for mackeral pate, for once a proper balance of oatcakes to pate ratio.  Creamy smooth pate that wasn’t too fishy.  Served with crunchy gherkins.

Haggis Bon Bons disappeared quickly, seemingly very tasty and some more wouldn’t have gone amiss (maybe one for a mixed starter platter?)

Sweet Potato Lasagne, amazing.  So much better than a minced meat one and I never thought I would say that.  Creamy, tasty pasta, Im converted.

Pan Fried Salmon – moist salmon with a crispy skin served with tasty potatoes.   These disappeared quickly too!

For drinks we went for Orange Juice and a Shiehallion.  For the price, well worth it.   Staff were friendly, lots of happy children about but not annoying.

Been to Clark & Sons a few times, first time with Tam Cowan when he done the Daily Record review. Since then posted a review of my own too. Always good food and great value. Definitely worth a visit for lunch or dinner.
