Customers will have a choice of a wide range of freshly prepared dishes, which cover every stage of the Christmas dining experience, from canapes to main dishes, dessert and the cheese board. The rich and extensive menu includes an exciting array of produce including Mini Beef Wellingtons; Goats Cheese Crackers with Red Onion Chutney; Chicken Liver Parfait; Dauphinoise Potatoes; Stuffing Balls in Panko Breadcrumbs and Red Cabbage. Customers will also have a choice of four different types of turkey or alternatively can opt for a turkey wellington.

For those who want to remove any hassle of choice, a pre-selected Christmas Box which contains all the produce and trimmings to feed up to six people can also be purchased for £120. As well as instructions on how to prepare the meal, this specifically created festive box will include a QR code allowing customers to access a video demonstration with guidance on how to bring the whole meal together.

Cook School Head Chef, Stuart Leslie said: “From speaking to our regular customers we know that many families across Ayrshire are anxious about how the festive period will look this year. Our hope is that by taking the stress out of the food shopping for the big day it will allow families to focus on the important things like spending time together and making the most of a Christmas that will almost certainly be very different to the usual.

“All dishes included in our Christmas Boxes are incredibly easy to prepare, and we include detailed instructions to help customers create that restaurant quality meal at home.

“Like businesses all over the country it has been a challenging year for us, but we have found a new way to continue reaching our customers. By teaming up with Thistle Cabs, we hope to offer another local company some much needed support.”

Christmas in a box

In recognition of the incredible contribution they have made during a very difficult year, NHS staff will receive a 10% discount on all Christmas Boxes from The Cook School Scotland this year.

Stuart said: “I doubt there is anybody in the region that doesn’t know someone who has been affected by coronavirus. The amazing staff right across every part of the NHS deserve a huge amount of praise and admiration for their tireless and selfless efforts. For us, offering a discount is a small gesture that will hopefully go some way to showing our appreciation of their ongoing work to fight this virus.”

Ross Gilmour Company Director at Thistle Cabs said: “As a local business, when The Cook School approached us with this idea, we were only too happy to get involved. Christmas 2020 is going to be a difficult time for businesses and families alike, so we are happy to do anything we can to help bring a bit of normality to the festive period.”
