Drag out your tartan trews and your dancing shoes (or a tartan scarf and expanding leggings!) as this Thursday is Burns Night where Scots around the world celebrate the Bard, Robert Burns.
If you are thinking of going out in Edinburgh or Glasgow, here are some suggestions on where to go.
A Pizza Haggis @pizza
Recently opened @pizza has the perfect Burns Night treat on the menu this week. The Pizza Haggis features tomato sauce, Scottish mozzarella, haggis, roast onion, sliced apple with chilli, finished with whisky & thyme sauce and flat leaf parsley. The special recipe pizza comes paired with Edinburgh Beer Factory BUNK! Edinburgh brown ale or Paolozzi lager, and a wee piece of tablet for £12.95, or £9.50 for the pizza on its own.

Burns Night cocktail at The Permit Room
The Patrick Geddes, will be available from Burns Night and then as part of a special offer during the Edinburgh Restaurant Festival in February.
It is named after Sir Patrick Geddes who was a botanist, ecologist, sociologist, town planner and social reformer – who was a long-time resident of both Edinburgh and Bombay and had a significant influence on both cities.
The drink combines Monkey Shoulder, which contains three whiskies from Speyside, and Amrut Fusion Indian single malt whisky, made from barley from both Scotland and India.
Other ingredients include Punch a la Ford (an aged punch that is made by steeping lemon rinds in alcohol), lemon juice, black pepper and a hop foam from Tempest Brewing Co.’s Elemental Dark Ale.
The Patrick Geddes has been created by Dishoom Edinburgh’s Head Bartender, Will Salisbury, and is available until 3 am every night from Burns Night on 25th January to 25th February for £9.

This Robert Burns Day Eusebi’s will be celebrating the long-standing relationship and merging of cultures between Scots and Italians in Scotland with a selection of specialist dishes.

The Glenfiddich Burns Night Experiment
Glenfiddich will be re-writing the Burns Night rule book to celebrate the life of Scotland’s famous poet. Enjoy a unique menu created by Ben Reade, Chef at the Edinburgh Food Studio, and inspired whisky cocktails from Panda & Sons founder, Iain McPherson. Glenfiddich’s Brand Ambassador, Mark Thomson, will be bringing to life Burn’s work with assistance from some surprising performers.
Tickets cost £50 per person, which includes a three-course menu and drinks.
