Edgeware Road Dining

Edgeware Road is certainly the place to go for Middle Eastern Cuisine.  You won’t starve around here. The main problem is picking which one to try.  I picked Beirut Cafe for no apparent reason as I was passing by and it seemed to pull me in.

Inside was bright and clean with lots of room.

For some reason, I only photographed one page of the menu, I must have been hungry!

Beirut cafe Edgeware Road London Arabic foodI picked the Deal 10 which was a Platter of 7 mezze dishes. A selection of hummous,  moutabel, tabbouleh, vine leaves, falafel, kibbeh and samboussek.  Moutabel – spicy eggplant dish a bit like baba ganoush. Tabbouleh -Tabbouleh is a Levantine vegetarian salad made mostly of finely chopped parsley, with tomatoes, mint, onion, bulgur, and seasoned with olive oil, lemon juice, salt and sweet pepper. Kibbeh -Kibbeh is a family of dishes based on spiced ground meat, onions, and grain, popular in Middle Eastern cuisine. Sambousek is a small meat pie, served as an appetizer or snack. It is usually filled with ground beef or lamb but can be filled with feta and other cheeses.

I must have looked like I needed some biscuits and fruit as these appeared after my mezze. Delicious fruit which hit the spot.

An excellent stop-off point on Edgeware Road for some mezze and quiet.
