After the success of the initiative in 2013, we’ve been searching for Glasgow’s Best Deli 2014.

We have once again teamed up with BBC Good Food Magazine to help judge the best deli in Glasgow and the surrounding area. The winner will receive a free stand at the BBC Good Food Show Scotland at the SECC from 17 – 19 October to showcase their produce to all the food loving visitors.

The Shortlist has been announced and it includes:-

Billingtons of Lenzie (Lenzie)
Celinos Deli (Alexandra Parade)
Peckhams (Various Glasgow locations)
Pane e Vino (Giffnock)
I.J Mellis (Great Western Road)
Roots and Fruits (Great Western Road)
Veldt Deli (Great Western Road)
Deli 1901 (Shawlands)
Lupe Pinto (Great Western Road)
Eusebi Deli (Shettleston Road
)

The judges will be looking at the following:

Range of international and local produce
Quality and value of produce
Product knowledge and enthusiasm
Customer service
Services, facilities and community involvement

Judges include:

Katy Truss – Fabulous Food Finds and BBC Good Food Shows’ Artisan Food Specialist
Laura Biggs – Managing Director of BBC Good Food Shows
BBC Good Food Show Blogging Community

Last years winner was Billingtons of Lenzie, an excellent heaven of wine, beer, food and delicious ice cream!

Hello!

I am Emma and with my husband Mark write Foodie Explorers, which is a food and travel website.

I am a member of the Guild of Food Writers and British Guild of Travel Writers.

We have a wide range of judging experience covering products, hotels and have judged, for example, for Great Taste Awards and Scottish Baker of the Year.

Along the way Mark gained WSET Level 2 in Wine and I have WSET Level 2 in Spirits as well as picking up an award with The Scotsman Food and Drink Awards.    

Usually I can be found sleeping beside a cat.
