Alla Turca, 192 Pitt Street, Glasgow – March 2009

We had been meaning to go here for ages, so threw caution to the wind and booked.  We choose the £12 menu which is seemingly the Brasserie menu.

whilst waiting for our starter we received a bowl of hummus and some olives with turkish bread to keep those hunger pangs at bay – went down very nice with the glass of turkish white that we decided to try.

House Speciality 10 Classic Turkish Mixed Mezes (9 Veg & 1 Meat Mezes) (Humus – Cacik – Babaganus – Kisir – Tabule – Borek – Falafel – Sarma – Hellim – Sucuk) Mixed Mezes comes in the middle to Share with Turkish Bread. Min for 2 Person, (£1.50 Supplement per person

Sultan of Baked Pumpkin with Alla Turca Salad

Adana Kofte Shish with Rice & Salad

Turkish Delight and Blueberry Creme Brulee

Baklava with Vanilla Ice Cream

and a kir royale each with pudding.

Service was very friendly, toilets sparkling!, only downside was the chairs were a bit cheap looking (and feeling) and the tables a wee bit too close for comfort.  Otherwise, the food was delicious and we didn’t leave hungry or too full – just a nice balance.  Looking forward to going back to try it again.

I agree, a perfectly balanced good food with a nice background music. Definately worth a try!
