02/10/2015 by Emma Leave a Comment

2015 world scotch pie championship

Linda Hill of Murrays in Perth was crowned World Scotch Pie Champion for 2015, who will take the 17th title?

The search has started for the 2016 World Scotch Pie Champion with bakers and butchers invited to enter their best sausage rolls, scotch pies, bridies and speciality savouries for the judges to cast their eyes and taste buds over.

Entry forms for the competition are due in by 23rd October so get your local butcher and baker to take part.

The best products in each category will be given awards as well as the winner of the Scotch Pie category being declared WORLD CHAMPION!  This is the 17th year of the championships and Foodie Explorers have been invited to help judge for the best pie.

Alan Clarke of Scottish Bakers said “We are delighted to be launching the 17th World Scotch Pie Championships. We have a huge number of hard working butchers and bakers who deserve recognition for delivering great products day in and day out.

“The title of World Scotch Pie Champion is highly sought after and this year I am looking forward to sampling for myself some of the best products on the market today and to seeing who the judges pick out as having produced something that I know will be world class” continued Douglas Scott, Chief Executive, Scottish Federation of Meat Traders Association

The competition is supported by Scottish Bakers and the Scottish Federation of Meat Traders.
